Like a little golden seashell rolled into a ball. Our Wave Ball Candle is covered in sweeping, feathery waves that curl around it from every side, so it looks a little different every time you turn it. Hand-poured in pure beeswax by us, the beekeepers based in Montreal, it's about 7 cm across, just the right size for a shelf, a nightstand or the middle of the coffee table.
Pair it with our Flower Ball, Geometric Ball and Small Spiral candles for a pretty mismatched set, or tuck it into a stocking as a sweet little surprise. Lit, it glows warm and golden with a soft honey scent.
Making waves, the natural way: This little ball is 130 g of pure beeswax. Beeswax melts at a higher temperature than soy wax, so it burns more slowly and lasts longer. The flame is brighter, with a warm golden glow, and it gives off a soft natural honey scent, where soy wax smells of almost nothing unless fragrance is added.
What is the Wave Ball candle made of?
What is the Wave Ball candle made of?
100% pure beeswax. That's the whole list. No paraffin, no added fragrance, no dyes. The golden colour and the soft honey scent come straight from the hive.
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
It's called bloom. Pure beeswax naturally grows a thin, whitish haze over time, especially somewhere cool. It's harmless, and it's actually a sign you've got the real thing. To bring back the shine, gently buff the candle with a soft cloth, or warm it for a few seconds with a hair dryer on low until the haze melts away. Bloom can come back, and you can repeat this as often as you like. (Some people love the vintage look and leave it!)
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Not exactly, and that's part of the charm. Each candle is poured by hand in small batches, and beeswax is famously temperamental. Tiny bubbles, small marks, slight colour differences or little imperfections can happen, so your candle may look a little different from the one in the photo.
How do I burn the Wave Ball candle safely?
How do I burn the Wave Ball candle safely?
Shaped candles like this one melt into a pool, so always burn it on a heat-safe plate or tray. Trim the wick to about 6 mm before each lighting and keep it away from drafts. Never leave a lit candle unattended or within reach of children and pets.
How do I clean dust off a carved beeswax candle?
How do I clean dust off a carved beeswax candle?
All those waves can collect a little dust over time. Brush it away gently with a soft, dry makeup brush or paintbrush, working along the grooves. For a quick refresh, wipe the smooth parts with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry. Avoid hot water, which can soften the wax and blur the details.
