Our little golden tower. The Small Ribbed Triangle Top Pillar has the same chunky ribs and pointed top as its big sibling, with every rib running up to meet right at the wick. At about 11 cm tall and 4 cm wide, it's slim enough for a windowsill or a bookshelf and sweet enough to tuck into a stocking. Hand-poured in pure beeswax by us, the beekeepers based in Montreal.
Line up a few in a row for an easy centrepiece, or pair it with the Large Ribbed Triangle Top Pillar for a matching duo. Lit, it glows warm and golden with a soft honey scent.
Small tower, big glow: This slim pillar is 100 g of pure beeswax. Beeswax melts at a higher temperature than soy wax, so it burns more slowly and lasts longer. The flame is brighter, with a warm golden glow, and it gives off a soft natural honey scent, where soy wax smells of almost nothing unless fragrance is added.
What is the Small Ribbed Triangle Top Pillar candle made of?
What is the Small Ribbed Triangle Top Pillar candle made of?
100% pure beeswax. That's the whole list. No paraffin, no added fragrance, no dyes. The golden colour and the soft honey scent come straight from the hive.
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
It's called bloom. Pure beeswax naturally grows a thin, whitish haze over time, especially somewhere cool. It's harmless, and it's actually a sign you've got the real thing. To bring back the shine, gently buff the candle with a soft cloth, or warm it for a few seconds with a hair dryer on low until the haze melts away. Bloom can come back, and you can repeat this as often as you like. (Some people love the vintage look and leave it!)
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Not exactly, and that's part of the charm. Each candle is poured by hand in small batches, and beeswax is famously temperamental. Tiny bubbles, small marks, slight colour differences or little imperfections can happen, so your candle may look a little different from the one in the photo.
How do I burn the Small Ribbed Triangle Top Pillar candle safely?
How do I burn the Small Ribbed Triangle Top Pillar candle safely?
Stand it on a heat-safe plate, since a slim pillar like this can drip once the pointed top melts down. Trim the wick to about 6 mm before each lighting and keep it away from drafts so it burns evenly. Never leave a lit candle unattended or within reach of children and pets.
Why does this candle have a pointed top?
Why does this candle have a pointed top?
It's mostly for looks: the ribs rise to a point at the wick, which gives the candle its little tower shape. On the first burns, the tip melts down and the flame settles into a small pool at the top, after which it burns like a regular slim pillar. Let it burn long enough each time for the melted wax to spread, and it will burn evenly.
