Clean lines, golden glow, zero fuss. Our Medium Ribbed Pillar Candle is wrapped in fine vertical ribs that play with the light and look effortlessly modern, whether it's on the dining table, the mantel or the edge of the bathtub. Hand-poured in pure beeswax by us, the beekeepers based in Montreal, it's the kind of candle that makes a room feel instantly cozier.
Beeswax burns slowly with a bright, warm flame, so you get plenty of quiet evenings out of it. A lovely hostess gift, too (just saying).
Beeswax vs soy: Pillars are where beeswax really shines, and this one holds 304 g of it. Its higher melting point means it burns down more slowly than soy wax, so this pillar keeps going night after night. The flame is noticeably brighter, and the scent is all natural honey, where soy wax smells of almost nothing unless fragrance is added.
What is the Medium Ribbed Pillar candle made of?
What is the Medium Ribbed Pillar candle made of?
100% pure beeswax. That's the whole list. No paraffin, no added fragrance, no dyes. The golden colour and the soft honey scent come straight from the hive.
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
It's called bloom. Pure beeswax naturally grows a thin, whitish haze over time, especially somewhere cool. It's harmless, and it's actually a sign you've got the real thing. To bring back the shine, gently buff the candle with a soft cloth, or warm it for a few seconds with a hair dryer on low until the haze melts away. Bloom can come back, and you can repeat this as often as you like. (Some people love the vintage look and leave it!)
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Not exactly, and that's part of the charm. Each candle is poured by hand in small batches, and beeswax is famously temperamental. Tiny bubbles, small marks, slight colour differences or little imperfections can happen, so your candle may look a little different from the one in the photo.
How do I burn the Medium Ribbed Pillar candle safely?
How do I burn the Medium Ribbed Pillar candle safely?
On the first burn, let it burn long enough for the melted wax to reach close to the edge, so it burns evenly afterwards. Trim the wick to about 6 mm before each lighting. Burn on a heat-safe plate, away from drafts, and never leave a lit candle unattended or within reach of children and pets.
How long does a beeswax pillar candle burn?
How long does a beeswax pillar candle burn?
It depends on the wick, drafts and how long you burn it each time, but beeswax burns more slowly than most candle waxes, so a pillar lasts a good while. To get the most out of it, let the first burn melt the wax nearly to the edge, trim the wick to about 6 mm each time, and keep it away from drafts.
