Somebody got into the honey again. Our Honeypot Bear was caught red-handed (well, golden-pawed) leaning on his honeycomb-patterned honey pot, and he's not sorry one bit. Hand-poured in pure beeswax by us, the beekeepers based in Montreal, he's a cozy little gift for the honey lover in your life, a cute addition to a gift basket, or a treat for your own shelf.
Light him for a warm, golden glow and a gentle honey scent, or keep him as a sweet little decoration all winter long.
Why beeswax beats soy: Our bear knows a good thing when he sees it, and he's 70 g of pure beeswax from ear to paw. Beeswax has a higher melting point than soy wax, so it burns slower and lasts longer, with a brighter, golden flame. And where soy wax barely smells of anything, beeswax brings a light, natural honey scent, no added fragrance needed.
What is the Honeypot Bear candle made of?
What is the Honeypot Bear candle made of?
100% pure beeswax. That's the whole list. No paraffin, no added fragrance, no dyes. The golden colour and the soft honey scent come straight from the hive.
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?
It's called bloom. Pure beeswax naturally grows a thin, whitish haze over time, especially somewhere cool. It's harmless, and it's actually a sign you've got the real thing. To bring back the shine, gently buff the candle with a soft cloth, or warm it for a few seconds with a hair dryer on low until the haze melts away. Bloom can come back, and you can repeat this as often as you like. (Some people love the vintage look and leave it!)
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Not exactly, and that's part of the charm. Each candle is poured by hand in small batches, and beeswax is famously temperamental. Tiny bubbles, small marks, slight colour differences or little imperfections can happen, so your candle may look a little different from the one in the photo.
How do I burn the Honeypot Bear candle safely?
How do I burn the Honeypot Bear candle safely?
Figure candles are made to be admired as much as burned. If you light yours, set it on a plate, since the wax will pool as the shape melts down. Trim the wick to about 6 mm before each lighting. Burn on a heat-safe plate, away from drafts, and never leave a lit candle unattended or within reach of children and pets.
Is the Honeypot Bear candle a good gift for honey lovers?
Is the Honeypot Bear candle a good gift for honey lovers?
It's one of our favourites for that. Made by beekeepers from real beeswax, it pairs perfectly with a jar of our raw Quebec honey in a gift basket, and it's a fun little extra for teachers, hosts and anyone with a sweet tooth.
