Part flower, part pinecone, all beeswax. Our Flower Ball Candle is covered in layers of little rounded petals that catch the light beautifully, even before you strike a match. Hand-poured in pure beeswax by us, the beekeepers based in Montreal, it's small enough to tuck into a gift basket and pretty enough to steal the show.

Pile a few in a bowl for an easy centrepiece, line them up on a mantel, or give one to someone who deserves a little glow. Lit, it gives off a warm golden light and a soft honey scent.

Why beeswax, not soy? Every one of those little petals is pure beeswax (121 g of it), which melts at a higher temperature than soy wax. That means a slower burn and more evenings of glow from one candle. The flame burns brighter too, and instead of the faint, flat smell of plain soy, you get a gentle honey scent straight from the hive.

What is the Flower Ball candle made of?

100% pure beeswax. That's the whole list. No paraffin, no added fragrance, no dyes. The golden colour and the soft honey scent come straight from the hive.

What is the white dust on my beeswax candle?

It's called bloom. Pure beeswax naturally grows a thin, whitish haze over time, especially somewhere cool. It's harmless, and it's actually a sign you've got the real thing. To bring back the shine, gently buff the candle with a soft cloth, or warm it for a few seconds with a hair dryer on low until the haze melts away. Bloom can come back, and you can repeat this as often as you like. (Some people love the vintage look and leave it!)

Will my candle look exactly like the photo?

Not exactly, and that's part of the charm. Each candle is poured by hand in small batches, and beeswax is famously temperamental. Tiny bubbles, small marks, slight colour differences or little imperfections can happen, so your candle may look a little different from the one in the photo.

How do I burn the Flower Ball candle safely?

Figure candles are made to be admired as much as burned. If you light yours, set it on a plate, since the wax will pool as the shape melts down. Trim the wick to about 6 mm before each lighting. Burn on a heat-safe plate, away from drafts, and never leave a lit candle unattended or within reach of children and pets.

How should I store beeswax candles?

Keep them in a cool, dry spot, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources like radiators or a sunny window, which can soften the wax and blur the petals. Wrap them in tissue paper if you're putting them away. Cool storage can bring on bloom, which is harmless and buffs right off.
